daytime dress
A few weeks ago, the boy received the fabulous news that he passed the Florida Bar. I will never forget the moment when he told me. He was sitting at his computer looking through the list for his id number. I was in the kitchen putting away clean dishes. When he looked up at me and told me he had passed I immediately started crying.
On Monday we went over to the Third District Court of Appeals for him to be sworn in. I wore an Ann Taylor dress, a turquoise necklace, and Nine West wedges. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of me, but the dress is below.

yellow + navy
This look is actually Ann Taylor head to toe. The skirt is a semi-new arrival. The tshirt and necklace are from a few collections ago, so finding them will be a little harder. Bracelets should be easy to get your hands on. Love this navy maxi paired with a yellow top or yellow scarf!

I love this skirt in person. The way it flows when I walk makes me smile... a lot. This is one of my go-to skirts when I want to look cute, but want to be comfortable, girly, and fashionable as well.

What I'm Currently Reading
Nonna Bannister carried a secret almost to her Tennessee grave: the diaries she had kept as a young girl experiencing the horrors of the Holocaust. This book reveals that story. Nonna’s childhood writings, revisited in her late adulthood, tell the remarkable tale of how a Russian girl from a family that had known wealth and privilege, then exposed to German labor camps, learned the value of human life and the importance of forgiveness. This story of loss, of love, and of forgiveness is one you will not forget.

What I've been reading
You don’t have to look very hard at Drew Silver to see that mistakes have been made. His fleeting fame as the drummer for a one-hit wonder rock band is nearly a decade behind him. He lives in the Versailles, an apartment building filled almost exclusively with divorced men like him, and makes a living playing in wedding bands. His ex-wife, Denise, is about to marry a guy Silver can’t quite bring himself to hate. And his Princeton-bound teenage daughter Casey has just confided in him that she’s pregnant—because Silver is the one she cares least about letting down.
So when he learns that his heart requires emergency, lifesaving surgery, Silver makes the radical decision to refuse the operation, choosing instead to use what little time he has left to repair his relationship with Casey, become a better man, and live in the moment, even if that moment isn't destined to last very long. As his exasperated family looks on, Silver grapples with the ultimate question of whether or not his own life is worth saving.

statement necklace + maxi skirt
This necklace is from Brandy Mellville. I first heard about it when I was living in New York. I walked into the Soho shop and found that basically all the sizings were "one size fits all". "One size fits all" never fits me, so all those cute clothes were just out of reach. Necklaces I can do though. I fell in love with this one, but never seemed to make it work into an outfit. I think this maxi is the perfect match for it. :)
